The Law Society of Hong Kong has been dedicated in promoting the collaboration of legal communities between the Mainland and Hong Kong, with youth education as one of the priorities. In April 2019, The Law Society and the Peking University Law School signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen collaboration. 

Against this background, a 32-hour course, titled “An Introduction to Legal Services and Risk Management for Cross-border Transactions”, was conducted by the Law Society on weekends in Beijing in 2019, and virtually in 2020 and 2021. 

To enrich the contents, the 2022 law course comprised 16 two-hour lectures is conducted in English in April and May. New topics for this year included Initial Public Offerings, Fintech, Special Purpose Acquisition Company, and commercial crimes.

The lecturers in April included Council members Ms. Careen Wong, Mr. Justin Yuen, GCLAC members Mr. Daniel Leung, Mr. William Ling, Mr. Patrick Mak, Pro Bono Committee member Mr. Arthur Chan, as well as Ms. Natalie Li and Ms. Amelia Lo. 

The Law Society held an online briefing session for volunteer lecturers of the law course in March.
